“The “RISING-STAR” Free-Style Dance Championships! . . . with top-notch entertainment, eats & treats at the Cruise Ship Auditorium (next to Hyatt Regency) with secured parking in POS.The Championships will follow our National “Rising-Star” Competition Format where our Dance Champions are awarded individually based on our unique scoring system:The Championships comprise of 3 Prized Dance Categories:
- Rumba (2 ½ mins)
- Cha Cha Cha (2 ½ mins)
- Latin Dance-Off Category with a dance mix of either a Merengue, Salsa, Cha Cha Cha, Rumba or a mix of any combination thereof (3 mins).

Register for any Competition Category (Rumba or Cha Cha Cha & Latin Dance-Off) for your chance at winning the dance category award; OR Compete in all 3 categories for your chance to win the overall “Rising-Star” Championships Grand Prize;

Only competitors registered in either the Rumba or Cha Cha Cha Dance Categories will be allowed to compete or dance in the Latin Dance-Off Category;

Points are awarded by the Judges to competing couples in each dance category for the selection of winners, with the couples’ points being assigned to each partner individually;

Competitors can select to dance with their same partner throughout the competition, or change their dance partner (dance with a different partner) for different dance categories;

The “Rising-Star” Championships Grand Prize will be awarded to the individual Male & Female Competitor with the highest total points for the overall competition (inclusive of all 3 dance categories);

The competition will be judged by a panel of 3-5 independent judges and each dance category will be required to host a minimum of 6 competing couples;

Registration for all or each dance category of the competition is free until December 1st 2011 (A Registration Fee applies thereafter).
